Data Sharing and Reproducibility Policy

At Journal Social Research (JSR), published by Nexus House Editorial, we uphold data transparency and research reproducibility as fundamental principles for ensuring the credibility, rigor, and reliability of scholarly publications in the social sciences. The following policy outlines our standards and expectations in this area.

  1. Open Data Sharing

Data Availability: Authors are expected to provide access to the datasets, analytical codes, instruments, and materials that support the findings presented in their manuscripts, whenever this is technically, legally, and ethically feasible.

Trusted Repositories: Research data should be deposited in recognized public or institutional repositories, or provided as supplementary material. Manuscripts must clearly indicate where and how the data can be accessed.

Ethical and Legal Compliance: For sensitive data, particularly those involving human participants or vulnerable populations, authors must ensure compliance with ethical guidelines, data protection regulations, and informed consent requirements. When full data sharing is not possible, authors must clearly justify the restrictions.

  1. Research Reproducibility

Methodological Transparency: Manuscripts must include a clear, comprehensive, and accurate description of research design, data collection procedures, analytical methods, and inclusion or exclusion criteria, allowing other researchers to understand and, where possible, replicate the study.

Sharing Analytical Code: Authors are strongly encouraged to share statistical scripts, software code, and computational tools used in data analysis as supplementary files or through public repositories to support verification and reuse of results.

  1. Data Availability Statement

Mandatory Disclosure: All submitted manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement specifying whether the data are publicly available, available upon reasonable request, subject to restrictions, or not available, along with a clear explanation.

Use of Third-Party Data: When research relies on data obtained from third parties, authors must provide proper citations, access conditions, and confirmation that the data were used in accordance with applicable licenses or permissions.

  1. Editorial Commitment to Transparency

Journal Social Research (JSR) actively supports open science practices. By promoting responsible data sharing, methodological clarity, and reproducibility, the journal seeks to strengthen confidence in published research and contribute to cumulative knowledge in the social sciences.

  1. Non-Compliance and Editorial Actions

Editorial Assessment: Compliance with this policy will be evaluated during the editorial and peer-review process. Manuscripts that do not meet data transparency and reproducibility requirements may be returned to authors for revision or declined.

Corrective Measures: In cases where data mismanagement, non-disclosure, or misconduct is identified after publication, the editorial board may take appropriate actions, including the publication of corrections, expressions of concern, or retraction of the article, in accordance with ethical publishing standards.
